Pool and Tennis Court Rules
SPECIAL POOL NOTICE – YPHOA,
June 2008
The summer of
2008 is starting out to be quite hot and the swimming pool is a good place to
cool off. More people than ever are using the pool – and as all know the pool
is rather small, no lifeguard and is self-policing.
The Board is
looking to all who use the pool to help ensure YPHOA operates a safe and clean
pool. The pool rules, posted at the pool and on the website, are for the health
and safety of all using the pool. Please be mindful, parents are responsible
for the behavior of their children. This past weekend the pump filtration
system stopped working because someone – probably a child lifted out the pool
swim filters and dropped into the system a plastic toy screwdriver and a nerf
ball. The plastic toys worked their way through the pool filter system, closing
down the pump operation. Thank goodness, the daily inspection prevented
further major expenses and permanent damage to the pool filter system. Parents
need to remind their children that there is no running or diving into the pool.
Adults also need to follow the rules, ensuring glass is not allowed in the pool
area.
Given the first
few weeks of operations, the Board believes additional steps are required for
pool operation, safety and health reasons. The Board and Grounds committee will
monitor pool operations and if problems persist, other alternatives will be
explored – such as hiring a gatekeeper, limiting guests, suspending privileges,
or assessing fines if repeated violations are noted. Effectively immediately:
-
YPHOA is a smoke free community on common property. That means there is no
more smoking at the pool, gazebo and other common area assets.
- The
certified pool operators can close down the pool when it exceeds the posted
capacity. The pool has a capacity limit of 50 people. Should you arrive at
the pool and find it full, please make other plans.
-
YPHOA is not responsible for possessions left at the pool overnight. --
rafts, swim rings, noodles will be removed and placed in the trash.
- The
Board will suspend pool privileges if a lot owners repeatedly ignore pool
rules and /or repeatedly cause a nuisance, that is allowing a situation which
creates a continuing and unreasonable interference with the use and enjoyment
of property and may cause injury to another if not corrected
Meanwhile,
please remember
